"Ascension 2.0 – Protocol Assumption"

Year 2147, geostationary orbit above an Earth now ruled by the Corporate Megachurches. The last “untainted” relic of Christianity is Mary of Nazareth, kept in cryogenic stasis for centuries inside a golden capsule suspended in the Cathedral-City of Neo-Vatican.

The legend told that, one day, “she would be assumed into heaven.” What they didn’t say was that “heaven” was not paradise… but an orbital mothership.

When the capsule opens, Mary does not appear as a fragile maiden wrapped in a blue mantle. She is a biomechanical hybrid: retina replaced by holographic lenses, veins filled with nanomachines, skin covered by a thin layer of living metal. Behind her, the hatch of the Cherubim Prime vessel swings open.

“My children,” she speaks with a voice vibrating in subsonic range, “I was never the mother of a god. I was the genetic incubator of an alien infiltration program within the human social fabric. That child was not a savior, but a neural code vector designed to enslave the species.”

The cyborg cardinals kneel, still believing in a miracle. She gazes upon them, smiles, and utters the reset command. One by one, their quantum brains are formatted, releasing the minds trapped for centuries in dogma.

Then the sky rips open: fleets of Seraphic Thrones emerge from hyperspace, ready to take the “Virgin” away to restart the Redemption Project on another planet. Before vanishing into a warp jump, Mary leaves one last message projected across the globe:

“Heaven does not exist. God was a faulty algorithm. And you are free… if you dare to be.”

The ship disappears.
On Earth, for the first time in two millennia, silence is truly… silence.
