This song was recorded entirely on a Tascam 246 portastudio using a Fuji DR-II tape.
Details of recording workflow:
Guitar recorded first with a click track on a separate track.
*Percussion recorded second followed by the bass guitar. Bass and percussion bounced to track 4.
Background synth recorded and guitar bounced to track 3.
Vocals recorded on track 2 with the backing vocal recorded on a looper pedal - used when required.
finally the piano and lead synth were recorded on track 1.

*Percussion sounds are from my macbook as i don't have a standalone sampler or own a lot of percussion instruments , they were layered into a usable percussion track then played into the fourtrack through the Zoom MultiStomp pedal.

A stereo mix was played from the Tascam 246 and recorded at 48khz 24bit to my macbook. I used a little bit of multiband compression to tidy up some stray frequencies and increased the overall level to a peak of -1.1db to ensure no clipping in the digital domain, this resulted in a LUFS of -13.37.
