Robert Andrew(R.A) Millikan devised an accurate and direct method for determination of basic value of charge in 1909 with the help of Oil Drop.
For this he was awarded with Nobel Prize in 1923.
#The underlying principle of this experiment is the Stoke's law of Viscosity.The reason behind the use ofnon- viscous materials having low Vapour Pressure such as clock oil, mercury, glycerin .
