OSA Plays the Record: The James Brown Band - Soul Pride Pt. 1 / Pt. 2 OG Soul Instrumental 45

If James Brown records from 1968 to 1974 were the blueprint of funk, then James Brown Band instrumentals were the bricks. Not long before JB's band became the JB's, they released a full length album titled James Brown Directs and Dances With The James Brown Band: The Popcorn. The entire album is essential, and every track a winner. Off of that full length release came a couple of 45 releases.... "The Popcorn / The Chicken" (coming soon) and "Soul Pride Pt. 1 / Pt. 2". It's not just legend that James Brown worked his band to perfection, and fined band members for playing wrong notes. That may seem a little harsh, but listen to how tight they were on "Soul Pride". Those antics did produce positive results. Enjoy. :)
