1931 HITS ARCHIVE: Stardust - Isham Jones (instrumental)

Описание к видео 1931 HITS ARCHIVE: Stardust - Isham Jones (instrumental)

The song’s composer Hoagy Carmichael had first recorded “Stardust” (aka “Star Dust”) back in 1927 as an instrumental, the Isham Jones orchestra put it on wax in the spring of 1930, and in the year 1931 the tune finally caught on in a big way. Among the various vocal and instrumental versions on the market that year, this Jones treatment is purported to have outsold the others.

CD audio, originally issued on 78rpm: Brunswick 4856 - Stardust (Carmichael) by Isham Jones’ Orchestra, recorded in Chicago May 14, 1930
