📘 Code on Wages, 2019 – Section 42 | Advisory Boards (Central & State)

In this session, we explain Section 42, which provides for the formation of Advisory Boards at the Central and State levels.

🔹 Central Advisory Board (CAB) advises the Central Government on:

Minimum wage fixation and revision

Women’s employment and suitable working conditions

Any other matter related to the Code

🔹 State Advisory Board (SAB) advises the State Government similarly and can create committees or sub-committees for specific matters.

✅ Key Composition Rules:

Equal representation of employers and employees

Not more than 1/3rd independent members

At least 1/3rd women members

Chairperson must be an independent member

👉 These boards promote inclusive wage policies, especially for women and vulnerable sectors.
