Candace Parker has transcended everything that people knew of women's basketball players ever since she dunked in high school.

In the Lady Vols basketball legend's new documentary, titled "Candace Parker: Unapologetic," she shared the side of her story the public hasn't seen before. The documentary, which premiered Sunday on ESPN, is full of home videos taken by her parents as she grew up. The film shows Parker's childhood and journey to Tennessee playing for the legendary Pat Summitt and then in the WNBA.

But the most impactful perspective was Parker as a mother — first to Lailaa, then to Airr, who was born in 2022.

Parker, who has always kept her personal life just that, showed the most intimate moments. She told her story in her own words and in her own time after spending her career in the spotlight.

The film was produced by Parker and ESPN Films, and featured interviews with Parker's wife, Anna; Parker's parents and brother; media personalities including Holly Rowe, Jemele Hill and Ramona Shelburne; and teammate Chelsea Gray, who played with Parker on the Los Angeles Sparks and now the Las Vegas Aces.

In 2008, Parker married former NBA player Shelden Williams, who is the father of Lailaa. However, they divorced in 2018, and in the documentary, Parker shares the story of her relationship with Anna Petrakova, whom she met playing pro basketball in Russia.
