all-axle grin front hub motor, phase runner & Big Block mid drive electric bikes Australia

I not only have a new front hub experience but also a phase runner experience with a new CA.... so it's not fair really to say too much for now. I will share more when I have tuned everything which for me will take ages. In a nutshell, my settings peak at 1.8kw which is underwhelming no matter what motor you do that with... bar say the mid drive which dishes so much more torque at the low speed end when geared right. The motor is the lightest one I have ever pulled out of the box, its an illusion because its so big expecting it to weigh like previous ones and it doesn't. Once mounted though it is definitely noticeable on a bike already loaded. steering is heavier, and heats up a bit faster than most hubs again because of its weight.... there's no way I would run only one of these. I am a slow hill climber and in that respect it is pretty useless, but you easily forget how important complete silence is when you ride out through the suburbs and past people on the trails...... Will see how she goes with more time. To be honest, although the front hub is a new experience the FOC controller feels more unique. I think the way the torque is handled takes getting used to and in reality this is probably a good thing considering it is protecting the bike from stress in the wrong gear. It seems to give me the full power when it's near the right gearing, say going 40-60kmh and give me very little from 0-20kmh. It's counter intuitive to what I grew used to over the last few years, and yet the feeling of it is velvet smoothe acceleration.
