Rollercoaster is a frequently used, multiple use trail with man-made obstacles in a tree canopied section of the Saint Joe Mountains of northern Idaho. The trail has a marginal grade and all obstacles have bypass routes. The slope and pitch of the obstacles lend themselves more to OHV use, though there is amusement for full size vehicles as well. The trail narrows the further you progress and will likely pinstripe your vehicle. There are no staging areas and most pullouts in the area are labeled “No parking anytime”. The route is open to snow wheeling when accessible and logging frequently occurs in the vicinity. Getting to the trail can be restrictive-heading south of Pinehurst Idaho on Pine Creek Road, turn right on West Fork Pine Creek and then right on Langlois Creek. You will find multiple signs indicating you are passing through private property and they reserve the right to charge $25 per vehicle for daily access to organized group excursions. They also indicate the road is open for use January 1st through August 25th. Respect ownership, stay out of creeks, and bring accommodation to pack out your garbage and waste as there are no restrooms; the forest has been overused as tufts of toilet paper are plainly visible. There is one campsite at the end of the trail, and additional trails branch out from the end.
