Seven Deadly Sins OP 1 (Piano Cover) | Memoranda Music

Hi everyone! Here's my piano cover of the OP from Seven Deadly Sins aka. Nanatsu no Taizai. It's been a while since I've played piano and let alone made a full cover, but after seeing my friend Scott Moon (@smongy on TikTok) make a vocal cover of the piece, something inspired me to hop back on the piano and make an old-school anime cover like the good'ol days. If you guys don't know, I've been posting a lot and growing on my TikTok (@amanda.sze) recently so that's why I haven't been as active on here.

This cover is more classically influenced than most of my covers. For example, I extended the harmonic scale pattern at the very beginning of the piece to make it 4x longer, and it ended up being by far the most difficult section of the whole arrangement, especially with the left-hand octaves (took me at least 20 takes to get it as precise as I wanted!). I also incorporated a Bach Fugue style interpretation of the second chorus at 1:08, which reminded me of when I used to learn Bach pieces when I did exams for piano back in the day. The articulation or musical "punctuation" of the piece is quite classical style throughout, with lots of typical stacato/slur patterns and classical phrasing (e.g. 0:08). Of course, for the big anime chorus, I reverted back to my typical "comfortable" anime piano style. I didn't do anything particularly unique for the chorus of this cover, since I thought it sounded the best typical anime style, with the arpeggio left hand and big chords on the right hand. The cover already had a bunch of fun classical elements I was focused on getting super precise, so I decided to keep the rest more in my comfort zone.

This cover really challenged me with the high-speed right hand and some left-hand jumps, particularly the phrase that appears at 0:27 and again at 1:13. I really had to drill down on getting every single note in the left hand to stick while not "losing" the articulation in the right hand, and had to practice a lot slower to get the pedal to press and release exactly when needed.

I hope you guys enjoy my piano cover of the Seven Deadly Sins OP! Have a great day :)))

ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Amanda. My very first instrument was the violin, which I started playing at 4 years old, however, since then, I've picked up piano, clarinet, bass clarinet, and alto & baritone saxophone. I made this channel to keep a record of all my musical creations in hopes that my future self will have a place to look back and reminisce the musical part of my youth. I post full-length covers on here and shorter covers on my TikTok! Subscribe to follow along my journey!

ABOUT MY MUSIC
All my covers on this channel are 100% original unless stated otherwise; I also learn them all by ear! I've never been the best sight reader, so in comparison to reading sheet music, playing things by ear is much easier and faster for me. All compositions are 100% original.
