A Hindu spiritual saint(সাধিকা) with miraculous divine powers, Shri Shri Anandamayi Maa was born on 30 April 1896 in Khewra village of Brahmanbaria district. Father was Bipinvihari Bhattacharya who later took up monastic life as Muktananda Giri. Anandamayi mother, engrossed in Harinam Kirtan, possessed divine powers from childhood. she was also known as Dakshayani, Kamala and Bimala.In Siddheshwari Kalimandir, she was divinely manifested one day in Anandamayi Murti(Face), from then on she became known as Anandamayi Maa. Her ashram was established in Ramna, Dhaka. Many sages were attracted to his spiritual philosophy. Two notable among them are Mahamahopadhyay Gopinath Kaviraj and Doctor Triguna Sen. According to ma Anandamoyi, the total world is dancing; The pulse of life , even when it germinates from the seed, creates a kind of dance. This wave form dances from the root from which it originates, once it subsides and then fades back into that root. Through this metaphor, he basically indicated the relationship between Jivatma and Paramatma.She traveled to different places in the subcontinent to inspire people spiritually.A special feat was the revival of Naimisharanya, one of the greatest pilgrimage sites in ancient India. Going there, he established a new temple and created a field for Bhagavatsadhana through yajna, kirtan, dance-sing etc. In this way, he renovated the old shrines and established new shrines in different parts of India in order to accustom people to a beautiful life. Ashrams, Vidyapiths, Kanyapiths, Hospitals etc. have been built in his name in places like Ramana and Khewora in Bangladesh also Varanasi, Kankhal etc. in India.
A total of 25 such ashrams have been established in his name.In this world of God; the karma of man to do duty from the condition he is in.' This is the main message of Anandamoyi.. He passed away on 27 August 1982. His remains were interred on the banks of the Ganges at the Kankhal Ashram in Haridwar, northern India.
