I'm pumped, I got a new computer recently and now not only am I able to use Giant Mario Paint, but I'm able to record myself with good quality (as far as the sound is concerned)! I haven't been able to do that for many years. And it's great having access to the greater staff range and number of instruments.

I had mentioned in my last Super Mario Paint that I was working on a Kirby song next. This was true (I was working on Vs. Magolor), but I ran into some balancing issues with it and put it on hold. Now that I have Giant Mario Paint, I might be able to work through those issues a little more easily. In the meantime, Northern Hemispheres is a song I was wanting to complete for years. I actually made the first handful of files a long time ago, but limitations with MPC and my knowledge of Viena prevented me from modifying sounds in a way that didn't require ridiculous note placements for held notes, even at dickspeed. When I knew I could use Giant Mario Paint, this was the first project that came to mind.

I'm really proud of this one. There aren't many Donkey Kong Country songs that haven't seen a lot of representation on Mario Paint, and this is one of them. I've always loved the sound of this song, as I think it really captures a feeling of tension and isolation in a remote tundra, with a blizzard rolling in.
