Core aeration is the process of removing small 2 to 3 inch plugs consisting of grass, thatch, and soil. The main purpose of doing core aeration is to relieve soil compaction and to allow water/air to reach the root zone. This will over time be more healthier for your root zone and turf. As usual, the best time to do any aeration on bermuda is during mid spring through mid summer. Its important to do this when the bermuda is actively growing.
