Summer Dry Flies: Paul Procter's Target Beetle

In this fly tying tutorial Fulling Mill Signature Tyer Steve Carew walks us through tying one of Paul Procter's most effective summertime summer dry flies, the Target Beetle. This is a great terrestrial dry fly pattern to be fished along grassy or vegetated banks when prospecting for trout. It's especially effective when you cast it up and under tree branches or bushes where the most wary trout will be hiding from the summer sun. Paul has used this pattern all over the world to fool picky, wild fish. You should try it, too!
