Socorro Island Scuba Diving

Описание к видео Socorro Island Scuba Diving

The Revillagigedo Island chain is over 300 miles out in the Pacific Ocean off of Mainland Mexico and South of Cabo San Lucus. The island chain consist of four shied volcanos that rise up over a mile off of the sea floor. Socorro Island, Clarian Island, San Benedicto and Roca Partida.

We did over 30 scuba dives on these islands documenting the marine life at depth from 100 feet to ten feet deep. Because these submerged volcanos are way out to sea they attract thousands of big pelagic fish from Hammerhead Sharks to Manta Rays. Along with huge schools of jacks and tuna the marine life there is just super unique.

The islands are a Mexican National Park and Socorro Island last erupted in 1997. No one lives on these remote islands except a handful of Navy personnel. Lobsters crawling all over the reefs, tons of sharks and beautiful Clarian Angelfish are everywhere you look and wile diving there you feel like you have gone back in time over 500 years!

This movie is part of our worldwide marine life educational series we are coming out with for schools. Marine Biologist Terry Lilley
