I'll Fly Away. Noble Hobo at Moonrunners 2023 Festival. Reggies Chicago.

Every year at Moonrunners one stumbles upon some unexpected jems, artists you weren't too familiar with, or never heard about, that nevertheless just blew you away. I'm sure everyone has atleast one of those each year...
Noble Hobo was not supposed to play at all, but stood in last moment to replace someone who did not make it. I watched him set up from one of the boots at the bar, as I was quickly finishing my 4pm breakfast. Mr. Hobo took not more than a few minutes to plug in and sipmply started playing - however, everything sounded top notch. And an incredible performance it was.
Noble Hobo plays simple, well structured and almost timeless songs, sung with a strong voice and a tremendously emotional delivery. This dramatic delivery, combined with a certain shyness, reminded me of Beth Gibbons, of all people. But do not be tricked by Noble Hobo's (and a very suiting stagename that is) almost apologetic behaviour - you are watching a very capable and skilled musician who knows very well what he is doing.
If you have seen him, you probably know what I'm talking about, if you have missed him - make sure you catch him upon first opportunity.
