Explicitly practicing Sankofa “ going back and taking what is at risk of being left behind” in terms of accurate accounts of enslaved people running away from enslavement in Upstate NY in pursuit of thriving while Black saying their names. Increasing positive Black Identity by observing that our enslaved ancestors were amazing people and not usual stereo-types.
