Sen Dick Durbin, friends, former staffers, and his widow Nancy, share their memories of former United States Senator, Adlai Stevenson III. His Great-Grandfather was Vice President under Grover Cleveland, his father was the Governor of Illinois and twice the Democratic nominee for President, running in 1952 and 1956 against Dwight Eisenhower.

Sen Stevenson was thus raised in an environment of service to the nation and after serving in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, he developed a career which he had hoped would have eventually lead him to the White House. While that didn't happen, his career launched the careers of many who later served in public office.

Sen Stevenson was also a Board Member on the Illinois Channel Board of Directors for 17 years.
