Need for Speed 5 (Porsche) - Autobahn with Porsche 911 GT1 (Single Race)

With Need for Speed Heat on the horizon I decided to do a quick revisit of the 21 previous NFS games leading up to the launch of Heat. Here you can see Need for Speed 5 (Porsche), which was released in 2000 for PC and PS1. In this game I recorded a race on Autobahn against AI with the Porsche 911 GT1.

Need for Speed Porsche for PC has 9 sprint tracks in different locations and 5 circuit layouts in Monte Carlo.

All of the cars in the game are from Porsche but there are many different models from 1950 to 2000.

Like all 21 main NFS games Need for Speed Porsche can be played on a modern PC with Windows 10.

Once again the PC and PS1 versions are quite different, maybe even more than in the previous games. In the PS1 version there are actually some free roam maps with police.

NFS Porsche has not only a career mode called Evolution but also a Factory Driver story, which is similar to the Challenge Series in some of the later NFS games.

The physics of the PC version have aged very well and I can definitely understand why some people view Porsche as the best NFS game of all time.
