Outstanding Performance of Five Students: Design Skills Academy honors the winning students

Pune : An artist is always an innovator. He builds his identity on the strength of knowledge and skills. The real need of the hour is to develop art with the help of technology. With the right combination of technology and art, you can definitely create a distinct identity in this field, this was what guided by Dr.Gita Mohan to the students.

At this time, Dr. Geeta Mohan, President of Design Skills Academy Sridevi Satish, Sameer Prabhune etc. were present on the occasion. Students of Design Skills Academy won 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in the state level skills competition organized by Maharashtra State Skill Development Society. The felicitation of these students was organized on behalf of the Design Skills Academy. In the state competition, Nupur Shah won gold and Prakash Lunkad won bronze in the graphic design skills category. In the game design skills category, Pankaj Singh won gold, Siddharth Satish won silver and Yajur Patel won bronze.

The closing ceremony of the Maharashtra State Skills Competition held in the state in preparation for the World Skills Competition to be held in Shanghai, China on September 2022 was held at ISME Management School, Mumbai. The winning students of the academy have been honoured by the Minister for Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Nawab Malik.

263 youths from the state had participated in this competition. Out of them 132 young men and women won medals. Now these youngsters will get a chance to participate in the divisional competition to be held in Gandhinagar and then in the national competition to be held in Bangalore. The winners of the national competition will compete in next year's World Skills Competition.

The students of Design Skills Academy have made their mark globally. Shweta Ratanpura had won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Skills Olympics in Kazan, Russia. Shweta became the first Indian woman to win a bronze medal in this category. Shweta was trained by Satish Narayanan. Since then the academy has started providing modern education in various fields like graphics, game design, filmmaking. In the junior skills category, Kimya Ghoman, a student of the academy, has qualified for the national competition under the age of 17 and will participate in the gold medal competition to be held on September 18-19.

Satish Narayanan, an expert from the Design Skills Academy, said, "Our students are consistently participating in various competitions and winning prizes." Parents are also happy with the brilliant performance in the state skills competition in graphic design and game design category. There are not a large number of young people in such fields as we do not have enough information about these types of career paths. The Design Skills Academy is working to create awareness among the youth that there are great career opportunities in this field as well.
