Tennis Serve Tactics - How To Hit 22 Different Serves

When you're improving your tennis serves over time and you're progressing from 2.0 to 3.0 and to 4.0 you can also see that your serves cause more problems to your opponents.

But around 4.0 - 4.5 NTRP level things start to change - return skills of your opponents become better and they are able to control your fast serves really well.

So unless you can serve well over 110 mph (180 km/h) you will not hurt your opponents much if they can reach your serves comfortably.

In my experience any serves at 100 mph (160 km/h) or slower can be returned with high consistency at 4.0, 4.5 and higher levels.

You will really need to hit a corner or close to the line with such a fast serve to get a free point but that's very difficult to do and it will happen rarely.

So what works much better than going for broke is to learn to hit many different serves and cause problems to the returner through unpredictability and variety of your serves.

In today's video I will show you how I used to serve 22 different serves and always kept my opponent's guessing as they never knew what type of serve was coming next.
