Horde enforcer Dylamug and his Troopers begin terrorizing the small village of Devlan, forcing Krystala, the daughter of an innkeeper named Darius, to seek help from the Rebellion. She-Ra intervenes just in time to save Krystala from a dangerous Horde harvesting machine and learns of the villagers' suffering. Though She-Ra agrees to assist, she decides to go alone with Krystala, believing it's crucial for the villagers to learn to fight back on their own rather than relying entirely on the Rebellion. However, when She-Ra arrives, the villagers are too fearful to resist Dylamug's demands and hand over their valuables. She-Ra battles Dylamug and his Troopers, but it's only when Krystala and her father, Darius, encourage the villagers to take a stand that they find the courage to fight. After She-Ra is knocked out by Dylamug, the villagers rally together to defeat the Horde and drive them away, ultimately joining the Rebellion's cause.

This episode marks the first appearance of Loo-Kee, who presents the moral lesson at the end of the episode, emphasizing the importance of speaking up about being bullied. Notably, the moral was absent in Episodes 1 through 5 due to the series' initial presentation of The Secret of the Sword.
