Recently got a new tattoo (my fourth) and before having it done, I was searching online for some healing / aftercare movies but couldn't really find a lot. That's why I decided to record the healing process day by day and share it with you. I am not a professional. I read a lot about it.
I do a lot of sports so, as you can see in the video, I use Dermalize protective skin during sports. It's water resistant but I wouldn't recommend you go swimming with a brand new tattoo. Wait at least until all the scabs have gone.

In this video, I recorded the process until day 11, which was when all the scabs had gone. Of course, the skin is still healing. You can feel it very well when you rub it.
My advise is to wait another 2 more weeks after the scabs have gone and then evaluate your tattoo. If things need to be redone (colour / blackness / lines / ...) contact your tattoo shop and have it done. Any decent tattoo shop will redo these things free of charge if needed. The shop where I went has a 2 month period in which you can go back and have things redone if needed.
