Amtrak's Blue Water at Durand, MI 4/15/23

Amtrak 365, the Blue Water, glides into Durand, Michigan on a cool spring morning. Take note of the Siemens-built Venture coaches. This is the first time I've seen them on the Blue Water, so they must've just started testing them on the route. Interestingly there appeared, or sounded like there were speakers on the outside of the coaches. and I was able to hear the conductor mention the train was sold-out, every seat would be filled. This is actually a pretty common thing for this service. Most people go all the way to Chicago, with most passengers getting on at Flint, East Lansing and Kalamazoo. The train mostly carries shoppers/tourists going to Chicago (with some catching another train at Union Station), college students from Michigan State and Western Michigan, and people on business trips. While the Blue Water arrived in Durand 5 minutes early and kept that pace up for a few more stops, the train encountered some delay past Kalamazoo and held a 1 hour delay from Dowagiac all the way to Chicago.
