In Dolaithabi, two small Meitei pockets -- Ekou and Saduyengkhuman – were targeted. On May 3 evening, the bazaar and adjoining areas of Ekou, which had 140 houses and inhabited mostly by Meiteis, bore the brunt of violence that had broken out following the Tribals' Solidarity March’ held by the Kukis to protest plans to give Scheduled Tribe status to non-tribal Meiteis.
