Mehmood Ali popularly known as Mehmood, was an Indian actor, singer, director and producer. He was born on 29 September 1932 in Bombay Presidency, British India.His father was film and stage actorand dancer Mumtaz Ali. His mother was Latifunnisa Ali. Mehmood had an elder sister and six younger siblings. His sister, Minoo Mumtaz, was also a successful dancer and character actress in Bollywood movies.

He married to Madhu Ali in 1953. The couple got divorced in 1967. later he married to Tracy Ali. Mehmood had seven sons, Lucky Ali, Pucky Ali, Baby Ginni, Manzoor Ali, Macky Ali, Mansoor Ali & Masoom Ali.
