Scorpions is a German rock band formed in 1965. Since the band's formation, its musical style has varied from hard rock to heavy metal. The only constant member of the band is guitarist Rudolf Schenker, although Klaus Meine has been the lead vocalist on all their studio albums. The group is known for the 1980s rock anthem "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and many other singles such as "No One Like You", "Send Me an Angel", "Still Loving You", and "Wind of Change". The band ranked No. 46 on VH1's Greatest Artists of Hard Rock chart. Also "Rock You Like a Hurricane" ranked No. 18 on VH1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs.

The group is one of the best-selling in history, with sales of almost 100 million records worldwide.

European success (1965-1977)

Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker were impressed by the Rock'n'Roll style, exported from the USA to Europe especially by Elvis Presley. Thanks to families with a helping hand, Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker can be found in clubs in Germany with their bands since 1965. In 1965, Rudolf Schenker founds the band Scorpions in Hanover (FRG). In 1970, Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker's older brother Michael switched from the band Copernicus to the Scorpions. At that moment, Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker laid the foundation for a friendship that has remained just as well to this day.

First album, "Lonesome Crow"
Because from the beginning the Scorpions band wanted to face the biggest rock bands, Klaus Meine writes the lyrics of the songs in English. With the release of the album in 1972, Scorpions opened for bands like Rory Gallagher, Uriah Heep or UFO. The engine of the band is from the beginning Rudolf Schenker, who from 1965 had the goal that "once and for all Scorpions will become one of the biggest rock bands in the world", a goal that would be fulfilled only a few years later. Starting with their third album, "In Trance", released in 1975, Scorpions work with internationally renowned producer Dieter Dierks. In the same year Scorpions organized a tour through Europe together with the band Kiss as Headliners. Since their first UK tour, Scorpions have been performing in the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool, thus being recognized by UK rockers. "Virgin Killer" and "Taken By Force"
The 4th album, "Virgin Killer" released in 1976 received the "best album" award in Germany and the Golden Disc in Japan. Other notable songs from "Virgin Killer": Pictured Life, Hell Cat and Catch Your Train. The same fate as the album that preceded it also has the album "Taken By Force" released in 1977. Starting with this album, Scorpions changed the drummer, Rudy Lenners being replaced by Herman Rarebell. A year before Scorpions also changed the bass player, Francis Buchholz joining the band. International success (1978-1992)
"Tokyo Tapes"
