In this review, I dive into the latest episode where Liko, Roy, and the gang land in Kitakami and find themselves caught up in the town's lively Harvest Festival. While the festival isn't the Festival of Masks as many fans expected, it still delivers plenty of fun, including an unexpected body-swap adventure between Roy and Crocalor! The quirky switcheroo adds a surprising amount of depth to their bond, giving the episode a touch of heart amidst the chaos. Roy and Crocalor navigate their new roles, offering plenty of laughs and a fresh perspective on their partnership.
Meanwhile, Friede finds himself intrigued by Carmine’s Sinistcha, leading to a series of festival games and challenges. Despite Carmine’s fiery determination, Friede manages to win, but the episode’s treatment of Carmine left me feeling like her debut was a missed opportunity. She could have been a more central figure, but instead, her character is played mostly for laughs. Still, seeing her in the anime was a treat, and I hope we see more of her soon.
This episode may not be the most thrilling in the series, but it has its charm. It’s a lighthearted detour, giving us a chance to enjoy some humorous moments, new Pokémon debuts like Sinistcha and Dipplin, and a deeper connection between Roy and Crocalor.
