📖 Overview and Themes
1. Oaths by Angels (Verses 1–5)
The Surah opens with oaths by different groups of angels:
Those who violently pull out souls of the wicked.
Those who gently take the souls of the righteous.
Angels who race swiftly, execute commands, and manage affairs of the universe.
These opening verses highlight the power and discipline of angels, setting the stage for the certainty of resurrection.
2. The Resurrection is Real (Verses 6–14)
Describes the blowing of the Trumpet that will cause panic and resurrection.
Disbelievers mockingly ask: “Will we really be raised after we are bones?”
Allah affirms that resurrection will happen in a single, sudden blast.
3. The Story of Musa (Moses) and Pharaoh (Verses 15–26)
Musa is sent to Pharaoh with Allah's message.
Pharaoh arrogantly rejects the message and claims divinity.
Allah punishes Pharaoh and makes him a sign for later generations.
This story serves as a warning to those who reject truth out of arrogance.
4. Reflection on Creation (Verses 27–33)
Allah questions those who doubt resurrection: Is your creation more difficult than the creation of the heavens and earth?
Details the creation of the sky, earth, mountains, and sustenance.
These verses remind us of Allah’s power and ability to recreate life.
5. The Day of Judgment (Verses 34–41)
On that Day:
The wicked will be in Hellfire, punished for preferring worldly life.
The righteous will enter Paradise, having feared their Lord and restrained their soul from evil desires.
6. Final Warning (Verses 42–46)
The Prophet is asked about the Hour (Day of Judgment).
Allah says only He knows its time.
The Day will seem like just an hour or a short evening to those who experience it.
