Today, we have with us an illustrious alumnus of our institution — the ex-Additional Director General of CPWD, Mr. PS Chadha
Mr. Chadha began his academic journey at Delhi Polytechnic, where he completed his Technical Higher Secondary education followed by Pre-Engineering. He then pursued his BE in Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, graduating in 1965. His professional path led him to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), where he served with distinction and ultimately retired as Additional Director General.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chadha oversaw major government infrastructure projects across the country. He played a key role as Project Manager, Incharge in the development of the new DCE campus at Bawana, working closely with university leadership to bring that vision to life. His later years in service saw him lead Central Government construction efforts across the northern and eastern regions of India.
Even after his retirement in 2002, his contributions continued through his work as a consultant with the Indian Buildings Congress and his expertise in arbitration for agencies such as CPWD, NHAI, DDA, and others.
He is not just a former student — he is a living bridge between the past and present of our institution.
It is an absolute honour for us to welcome a man whose life and legacy are deeply entwined with the story of Delhi Polytechnic, Delhi College of Engineering, and Delhi Technological University —Mr. P. S. Chadha.

Mr. P.S. Chadha, an esteemed alumnus of the University, was not only an exceptionally skilled, visionary, and dedicated engineer, but also a nation-builder in the truest sense. He played a pivotal role in shaping the new campus of DTU with his engineering acumen, and contributed immensely to several prestigious national projects during his tenure at CPWD, retiring as the Additional Director General. His unwavering commitment and selfless service have left an indelible mark on the country’s infrastructure and development landscape.
