MF SOFTBOARD THE BEASTIE 03 29 2024

I spent an hour with the Mick Fanning soft board.

Conditions weren't too bad.

The fins stayed on without the bolts.It was the first time that I used the clip on fins setup.

Pros:

paddles great, weight is not heavy. The textures on the soft board helps a lot, I barely had surfboard wax on it and I did not slip off on paddling or riding. Comes with free fins but... may be a bit of an adjustment for more experienced surfers. I love the way it rides on steep surf, it holds up well. The rocker for me kept me on the face and never nose dived at all. The board performs great and responsive, better suited fins would be better for more heavy footed riders on bottom turns. I can imagine a good strong turn can make the soft board spin on a wave easily. I will have to give it a try.

Cons:

Visually, I do not like the shape. of the nose, but thats just me, I am used to more of a rounded nose.The soft board fins are too loose for my liking but I understand its for safety reasons for new riders.
