Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the musician frequently appeared on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, and his relationship with the show reaches its apex on this fantastic 1977 television special, which Simon wrote with legendary SNL producer Lorne Michaels. A send-up of the backstage experience, THE PAUL SIMON SPECIAL stars Charles Grodin as a hilarious producer and Lily Tomlin and Chevy Chase as themselves. In addition, Paul plays some of his hits, including collaborations with his old partner, Art Garfunkel.
