Mark Kostabi illustra, in modo ironico e divertente, le 6 regole d'oro per diventare un artista ricco e famoso. He studied drawing and painting at California State University. He moved to New York, where he became a leading figure in the East Village Art Movement. In 1988 he founded "Kostabi World", an integrated complex of study, gallery and office, famous for the employment of assistant painters and creative, through which he tackles the theme of the commodification of contemporary art. Kostabi had as reference points Duchamp first and Warhol then. He then approached all European painting not only as quotations in his paintings but also as a philosophy of work, appropriating the concept of the artist workshops in which assistant students collaborate in the realization of a work. Painter, writer, composer, producer, Mark Kostabi is considered one of the most eclectic and influential artists of the postmodern era. During his multi-faceted career, he designed record covers (for Guns N' Roses and The Ramones) as well as watches for Swatch; he published several books and produced his own TV show.
