🕯️ About this Prayer
Written by Saint Sophrony, disciple of Saint Silouan, this prayer reminds us that “our brother is our life.” It is a call to become truly one in the love of Christ.

📖 Full Text of the Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world,
You ascended to Golgotha to redeem us from the curse of the Law and to restore Your fallen image.
You stretched out Your most pure hands upon the Cross to gather together in one the scattered children of God, and by the descent of the Most Holy Spirit, You called all to unity.
You, the radiance of the Father, before going forth to this great and sacred work for the salvation of the world, prayed to Your Father that all may be one, even as You are one with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Grant us, therefore, grace and wisdom to fulfill this commandment daily.
Strengthen us in the struggle for that love which You commanded us, saying: "Love one another as I have loved you."
Through Your Holy Spirit, grant us the power to humble ourselves before one another,
understanding that the one who loves more also humbles themselves more.
Teach us to pray for one another, to bear each other's burdens with patience,
and unite us with the bond of unbreakable love in Your holy Name.
Grant us to see in each brother and sister the image of Your ineffable glory,
and never to forget that our brother is our life.
Yes, Lord, who by Your good providence have gathered us together,
make us truly into one family, living with one heart, one will, a single love, as one person,
according to Your pre-eternal counsel for Adam, the first-born.
Overshadow our house with the spirit of Your holy fear,
and let the prayers of Your Most Holy Mother, of Your Forerunner John, and of all Your Saints protect it always,
blessing and defending each one of us who dwell herein,
preserving us from harmful thoughts, from unseemly words or impulses of the heart that might destroy peace and concord.
May this house be built upon the rock of Your Gospel commandments as a place of prayer, sanctification, and salvation,
for ourselves and for all who visit us—our laboring and burdened brothers and sisters—
that we may all find rest in You, our meek and lowly King, now and forever. Amen.
