MONSTER ROAD is a feature length documentary about the life and work of legendary underground animator Bruce Bickford. Bickford, who is a cult figure from his collaborations with Frank Zappa in the 1970s, has influenced generations of animators while somehow eluding mainstream notoriety. MONSTER ROAD journeys back to Bickford's childhood in a competitive household during the Cold War, and examines his relationship with his father George, a retired aerospace engineer suffering from the onset of Alzheimer's disease. MONSTER ROAD won 16 awards, including "Best Documentary" at the Slamdance Film Festival, before a two year run on Sundance Channel (2005-07). The MONSTER ROAD DVD features 45 minutes of extras, including deleted scenes, rare Bickford animation, and the original score by Shark Quest.
