Haunted Stream Track - VHC

Описание к видео Haunted Stream Track - VHC

This video profiles the Haunted Stream Track which runs between Tambo Crossing and the Dawson City campsite. If you're a river crossing junkie then this is the track for you with over 50 river crossings. The track follows the Haunted Stream along a densely forested valley and passes by several historic gold mining locations which can be fun to explore. Whilst the Haunted Stream crossings in this video are relatively easy with low water levels at the time, higher water levels could result in highly challenging conditons.

There is a telemetered stream level gauge on the Haunted Stream (Hells Gate Gauge - 223215) which provides daily water levels.

The current levels can be accessed online via:
https://data.water.vic.gov.au/?ppbm=2...|B_223_TAMBO|WEB_SW&rs&1&rsdf_org

The current daily water level can be sourced by:
1. Selecting the DATA tab
2. Ticking the BOX for Steam Water Level (m)
3. Selecting ALL DATA from the Period dropdown box
4. Selecting DOWNLOD from the Output dropdown box
5. Selecting DAILY from the Data Interval dropdown box
6. Pressing the GET OUTPUT button

I recommend downloading the data as a CSV file which can be opened in Microsoft Excel. You can find the current and historic daily water levels in this file. For reference, the daily water level at the Hells Gate Gauge was 1.33m on the day that we travelled along the Haunted Stream Track.

Note: Increases in the water levels at the Hells Gate Gauging Station may translate to exact changes in water level at the crossings but hopefully the water level will give you some indication of how the stream crossings are likely to be compared to when we were there. See you out there!
