Today we visit the beautiful Caribbean and do 2 landing challenges on the world's most dangerous landing sites.

On the island of Saba and Saint Barthelemy Island we test the Britten Norman BN-2 Islander from Blackbox Simulation for its realism and flight behavior. We use free mods from Flightsim.to for both sceneries, the links can be found further down in the video description.

The Britten-Norman Islander is a versatile, robust light aircraft that is particularly appreciated in remote and rural areas.It was developed in the 1960s and more than 1300 examples have been built to date.

The Islander is used for both passenger and cargo transport. Thanks to its modular design, the interior can be quickly adapted to switch between passenger and cargo missions.

Military and civilian use: In addition to civilian use, the Islander is also used by many armed forces and police units around the world as a reconnaissance, rescue and liaison aircraft.

The aircraft has proven to be extremely durable. Many of the first models built in the 1960s are still in use today, which underlines its reliability and solid construction.

Multiple variants: Numerous variants of the Britten-Norman Islander have been developed over the years, including turboprop-powered models that offer further improved performance and range.

Saba (TNCS) Juancho E Yrausquin Airport:

The island of Saba, with its mountainous profile and lack of large flat areas, was considered unsuitable for the construction of an airport. On February 9, 1959, the aviation pioneer and later mayor of St. Barth, Rémy de Haenen, dared to make a spectacular landing on a provisional runway at Flat Point, thereby proving that it was possible in principle to fly to the island by plane. As a result, construction of an airport began at Flat Point in the early 1960s, and it opened on September 18, 1963. The airport was named after Juan Enrique Irausquin, a former Minister of Finance and Social Affairs of the Netherlands Antilles, who played a key role in its construction.

The airport is considered one of the most demanding airports in the world due to its unfavorable geographical location and extremely short runway, although not a single accident has occurred to date. The airport can only be flown to with a special permit from the Dutch Aviation Authority.
On the southern side, the mountain goes steeply up, on the northern side and at both ends of the runway, cliffs drop almost vertically into the sea. Therefore, there is no possibility of rolling the aircraft over the end of the runway in an emergency. The aircraft would crash into the sea, similar to an aircraft carrier.

TFFJ - Aéroport de Saint-Barthélemy-Rémy de Haenen

Aéroport Rémy de Haenen is the airport on the French island of Saint-Barthélemy in the Caribbean. On October 30, 2015, the airport was renamed after the French aviation pioneer and later mayor of Saint-Barthélemy Rémy de Haenen, who made the first landing with an airplane on Saint-Barthélemy on the site of the current airport in 1946.

On September 6, 2017, Hurricane Irma caused major damage to the airport.
Landing on St. Barth requires strong nerves. The airport on St. Barth is considered one of the most dangerous in the world: pilots have to dive onto the runway and brake sharply.
