A Small Crisis on Big Porcupine | Fall canoe trip (cut short)

Questionable water sources and a dangerous cliffside tent setup were just some of the precarious things that were part of my final backcountry trip of the season. The “crisis” part of the story—although very worrisome—was a great learning experience as to why you should ALWAYS keep your pets on a leash.

Despite the trip being cut short due to the “crisis” (thankfully, everything turned out ok!) it was still one of my favourite trips of the 2023 season. The fall colours, the moon, the stars… the overall scenery was outstanding. I kept wondering if it was real life or if I was living inside a painting. It sure felt surreal.
