Diogenes lived between 412 BC (or 404 BC) and 323 BC and was the famous philosopher and pioneer of Cynic philosophy. He was born in Sinope and died in Corinth. He is also known as Diogenes of Sinope and Diogenes the Cynic. Diogenes was an ancient philosopher who rejected civilization and tried to live in civilization and away from civilization. The Cynic school is considered one of the Socratic schools. Anthisthenes argued that happiness could only be achieved through virtue and that this virtue could be achieved by rejecting worldly pleasures (by rejecting values ​​and judgments such as property, family, religion, etc.). Diogenes was the one who brought fame to cynicism and thus ensured its spread. Diogenes put this teaching into action and argued that true virtue could only be achieved this way. According to legend, Diogenes decided to continue his life in a barrel and thus completely isolated himself from social needs. Alexander the Great, who was a student of Aristotle, was a ruler who was interested in philosophy and valued philosophers. Coming to Corinth, Alexander the Great visited Diogenes and asked him if he had any wishes. He replied, "Don't cast a shadow, I do not ask for any other favors." The original form of his answer was, "Do not withhold from me what you cannot give me," while pointing to the sun with his index finger. Later, Alexander said of this incident, "If I were not the emperor Alexander the Great, I would like to be 'Diogenes.'"
