MV ILALA FERRY , MALAWI || 42 hours travelling across Lake Malawi, backpacking Africa.

In this video we share our experience on the famous MV Ilala Ferry travelling from the South (Monkey Bay) to three quaters of the way up the lake (Nkhata Bay). We explain a bit about the history of the ship and the voyage as well as how we spent the 42 hours, the islands we stopped at, the food we ate and the people we met. This ferry is FULL of chaos. But wow, it was interesting and humbling to be immersed in a very local way of life, using the main mode of transport.
