If you want this experience you HAVE to be in the area that is in totality. That is 100% blockage of the sun by the moon. Not 99%, not 98%, 100%. I shot this video myself in Beatrice, Nebraska in 2017 during the total solar eclipse. PLAN ACCORDINGLY! We'll be able to forecast potential cloud cover starting around 5 days out.
