The National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System, also known as, NNDSS focuses on “notifiable disease” reporting in the USA. It is a passive surveillance system that includes all the diseases and conditions under national surveillance. With the aid of figures and diagrams, the NNDSS system is introduced. The differences between “Reportable” and “Notifiable” diseases or conditions are explained. To protect Americans from serious diseases, the NNDSS helps monitor, control, and prevent about 120 diseases.
