Played with Thrustmaster ESWAP X Pro Controller.

I'm surprised I got this on the first attempt. Gran Prix mode significantly increases the amount of laps on each course, and adds fuel and tire wear. The main concern is your tire wear, as the more worn out your tires are, you have to take corners at slower and slower speeds in order to not spin out.

If that wasn't bad enough, your top speed also decreases the more worn out your tires are, which on the beginner track, basically forces you to pit at least once in order to get 1st, and pitting takes a lot of time. Since tire wear slows you down so much, you want to also prolong the life of your tires by not drifting as much, which you'll wanna do on the final corner for the beginner track. Though that's slower, so a good rule of thumb is to stay at least within drafting range of 1st, be careful not to let them go too far ahead!

At the start of the race and after exiting the pit, you'll wanna go as fast as possible to catch up to first, prolonging the catch up just jeopardizes your chance of getting 1st, and delays when you can start prolonging your tires.
