Fun 19-mile ride to 14,000' Pikes Peak. 90 degrees in the valley and 45 degrees at the peak. Paved all the way. On top you can get out of the wind and grab a snack. Fresh made donuts are my favorite. Several ways to get there. You can make a reservation and drive to the top or drive part of the way and take a shuttle to the summit or take the train. As we started down, Air Force jets had a fly by that got our attention. Many tourists were having altitude issues. We have Boost Oxygen for altitude problems. A brake check station will take the temperature of your brakes and make you stop if too hot.
