So Lumine's pretty much a lifeless husk now, with cracks forming in him and everything. Axl goes to check on the body and is attacked by some tentacles that protruded from Lumine, hitting his forehead gem and knocking him out. X and Zero promptly deal with the body and return to base carrying the unconscious Axl. On the way down from the elevator, X and Zero contemplate what Lumine meant by evolution, and what it could mean for the future, and whether fighting is really doing anything at this point. After the credits, we get a glimpse at something inside Axl's forehead gem. What this is will forever remain a mystery until Capcom releases a sequel.

So, that ends Mega Man X8, a very underrated game in my opinion. So up next, we go to Mega Man 10. __
