This is a documentary about trachoma in Australia during the 1970s and how Fred Hollows with Indigenous health workers, and specialists travelled around the country to evaluate the prevalence of trachoma in rural and remote communities.

The Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists (RACO) supported the National Trachoma and Eye Health Program ran from 1976 – 1979 and set out to eliminate trachoma and other eye conditions in rural and remote communities and, for the first time, record the status of eye health in rural Australia.

With Fred Hollows as Director, teams visited more than 465 communities and screened 100,000 people, 62,000 of whom were Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
This documentary was produced in 1977 by independent filmmakers.
