In 1970, the successful team of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby went their separate ways. Kirby left Marvel Comics and, for the next six years, worked exclusively for DC. His first project was a series of interrelated titles that would tell one complete saga. This was the foundation for what is known as the Fourth World.
