Eruption Number 9 Started Strong But The Situation Looks Better At Dawn

Huge amount of lava is on it's way to the Blue Lagoon and the Power Plant. Not only is it more total volume than during the last eruption, all of it is heading to the Power Plant this time but the lava barriers around Grindavik took got a large share of the lava last time. So this is more and less what we expected and it gets harder and harder to protect the extremely valuable infrastructure around there. I'm off to Reykjavik now from where I will be doing filming to the volcano the nest days and feel free to use the Coffee button to support my missions to bring back interesting footage.

Update August 23: 10:00 AM
The second fissure the opened up at 02:00 might have prevented a major disaster since the lava fill be carried further north than before, out of harms way. This looks way better now than last night!
