Jagannatha Ratha Yatra is an important festival which takes place in the holy city of Puri, India. It is celebrated every year on the second day of the bright fortnight of the month Ashadha (June-July). On this day, the three Deities - Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra are taken out of Their temple in procession on three elaborate chariots. Lakhs of devotees from across India and around the world gather along the streets to catch a glimpse of the Deities during the procession, which is accompanied by singing and dancing.
