Existentialism is a philosophical movement that emphasizes individual freedom and choice. Existentialists believe that human beings are unique in that they are aware of their own mortality and must create meaning and purpose in their lives despite the inherent absurdity of existence. Ultimately, existentialism encourages individuals to take responsibility for their own lives and to create their own meaning in a world that may seem meaningless.
